Chronology of intervention:
-The beginning of the 3rd Century: Construction of the monument by Gordien.
-1648: Transformation of the amphitheatre in fortress by remnants of the Byzantine army beaten to Sbeitla by the Moslem troops.
-VIII: Digging of an underground joining the monument to the harbor of Sellakta.
-XVII & XIX: Destruction of some parts of the monument.
-XX: Restoration, funding and enhancement of the monument.
